That's My Power! Pilot program expression of interest

Our goal is to improve energy literacy in schools and inspire the next generation of Territorians to become future STEAM professionals through our That’s My Power! program.

We’ve run our That’s My Water! program since 2016, and more than 40 schools and 6,000 students have taken part. We’re now launching a That’s My Power! pilot program, and it’s an exciting opportunity to help shape a program that can really make a difference.

About the program

That’s My Power! is a chance for schools to lead the way in helping students better understand where their electricity comes from, and how to use power more sustainably. The 8-week, teacher-led initiative is for Year 5 and 6 students, and provides resources and access to experts to help you include energy education in your lessons.

We’re looking for three Darwin Region primary schools to take part in our pilot program. They will provide feedback that will help us fine-tune the design and delivery of That’s My Power!, which is aligned to the curriculum and will focus on:

  • Energy transformation and transfer – circuits and energy flow.
  • Sustainable energy choices and renewables.
  • Electricity generation – how power is produced, including different sources.
  • How energy use and production affect local environments and communities.
  • The Northern Territory context, to be relevant to Territory students.

What’s required

  • Schools to self-deliver the pilot program in Term 3, 2025.
  • Principal, Business Manager or School Leadership Team to support the teachers delivering the program.
  • Participation in media opportunities (subject to image/content approvals).

We’ll make providing feedback as easy as possible with short surveys before and after the pilot.
